दशपुत्रसमा कन्या दशपुत्रान्प्रवर्धयन्।
यत्फलं लभते मर्त्यस्तल्लभ्यं कन्ययैकया॥
अर्थात्- अकेली कन्या ही दश पुत्रों के समान है। दश पुत्रों के लालन पालन से जो फल प्राप्त होता है वह अकेले कन्या के पोषण से ही प्राप्त हो जाता है।
The girl alone is equal like the ten sons. The fruit that is obtained from the upbringing of the ten sons is attained only by the nutrition of the girl child.
