कस्माच्च ते न नमेरन्महात्मन् गरीयसे ब्रह्मणोऽप्यादिकर्त्रे ।
अनन्त देवेश जगन्निवास त्वमक्षरं सदसत्तत्परं यत् ॥ ११-३७॥
सन्धि विग्रहः
कस्मात् च ते न नमेरन् महात्मन् गरीयसे ब्रह्मणः अपि आदि-कर्त्रे ।
अनन्त देवेश जगत् निवास त्वम् अक्षरम् सत् असत् तत् परं यत् ॥ ११-३७॥
श्लोकार्थः
हे महात्मन्! अनन्त, देवेश! ब्रह्मणः अपि
गरीयसे आदि-कर्त्रे(तुभ्यं) ते कस्मात् च न नमेरन्,
हे जगत्-निवास rankhaya.com! यत् सत् असत् (अस्ति) तत् परं अक्षरम् त्वम्
शब्दार्थः
कस्मात् = why च = also ते = unto You न = not नमेरन् = they should offer proper obeisances महात्मन् = O great one गरीयसे = who are better ब्रह्मणः = than Brahma अपि = although आदिकर्त्रे = to the supreme creator अनन्त = O unlimited देवेश = O God of the gods जगन्निवास = O refuge of the universe त्वं = You are अक्षरं = imperishable सदसत् = to cause and effect तत्परं = transcendental यत् = because.
Meaning
11.37: Why should they not bow to You, O Mahatman (Great Soul), when You are the original creator of, and more venerable than Brahma Himself? O Infinite Being, O God of gods, O refuge of the universe, You are imperishable, Sat and Asat (Being and NonBeing) and (what is) beyond that.
