चतुर्विधा भजन्ते मां जनाः सुकृतिजोऽर्जुन।
आर्तो जिज्ञासुरर्थार्थी ज्ञानी च भरतर्षभ।।७-१६।।
सन्धि विग्रहः
चतुः-विधाः भजन्ते माम् जनाः सुकृतिनः अर्जुन।
आर्तः जिज्ञासुः अर्थार्थी ज्ञानी च भरतर्षभ।।७-१६।।
श्लोकार्थः
हे भरतर्षभ अर्जुन! आर्तः, जिज्ञासुः, अर्थार्थी,
ज्ञानी च (इति) चतुः-विधाः सुकृतिनः जनाः माम् भजन्ते।
शब्दार्थः
7.16 चतुः-विधाः=four kinds of भजन्ते=render services माम्=unto me जनाः=persons सुकृतिनः=those who are pious अर्जुन=O Arjuna आर्तः=the distressed जिज्ञासुः=the inquisitive अर्थार्थी=one who desires material gain ज्ञानी=one who knows things as they are च=also भरतर्षभ=O great one amongst the descendants of Bharata
Meaning
7.16: Four kinds of virtuous people worship me, O Arjuna. They are the distressed, the seeker of knowledge, the seeker of wealth, and the Jnāni (the seeker of wisdom), O the best of Bharatas.
