दानेन तुल्यं सुहृदास्ति नान्यो लोभाच्च नान्योऽस्ति रिपुः पृथिव्याम्।
विभूषणं शीलसमं न चान्यत् सन्तोषतुल्यं धनमस्ति नान्यत्॥
There is no well-wisher like charity and there is no bigger enemy than greediness in this world. There is no other ornament like character and there is no other money like satisfaction.
दान के समान अन्य कोई सुहृद नहीं है और पृथ्वी पर लोभ के समान कोई शत्रु नहीं है। शील के समान कोई आभूषण नहीं है और संतोष के समान कोई धन नहीं है।
